School Council News Update – May 2019

Hi there,

Sorry that we have been so quiet lately! SATS has taken over our lives but now that we have completed them we are free, (of course, we still have lots of work to do!).  Since our last blog, we have been really busy.  We joined in the Big Battery Hunt and think we could be in with a shot of winning.  Thank you for all of your batteries but it isn’t over yet: keep them coming!  We also met with the fantastic school catering team to taste new food that may be added to the menu and it was really tasty!

In our recent meeting, we discussed the following issues:  our enjoyment in French lessons; additions to after-school clubs for next year and then we looked at some class names for the new classes in September -unfortunately, we will not be here as we are moving to Netherwood #sadtimes.

During this term, we had an AMAZING Ofsted reward day, (huge thanks to the PTA for organising everything).   All of the children had a chance to go on different inflatables and received a drink with a personalised cupcake after.   We loved everything especially when Miss Keenan and Mr Wogan’s team won the staff race at the end of the day, that’s why they are the best to be in charge of school council!   During this term, we will also be looking at exciting events such as sports week and transition.

Keep your eyes peeled for what’s to come.

Tomas and Tegan

Our First Blog!

It’s Tomas and Tegan, the Head and Deputy Head of the Student Council here.

We are writing our first ever blog to tell you about what we have already done and the exciting things to come.

By working in groups, we have spoken about many different parts of school life that we want to improve such as: the playground equipment, how eco-friendly we are and our learning environments. Keep your eyes peeled for new things to come!

We have organised many events already including Christmas Jumper Day and Children in Need raising £722.56 and are currently organising Red Nose Day which we are looking forward to.

Please keep your entries coming in for the School Council design competition as the winner will be chosen this week.

If you want to help us make the school even better please speak to your Student Council.

See you soon!
